Geraldine Ryan Lush was born and raised in St. Joseph's, St. Mary's Bay, NL, in 1949. She studied at St. Brides College, Littledale, 1967, and received a B.A. (Ed.) , Memorial University. She taught school at several locations in NL/Labrador, becoming an internationally recognized author in 1992, with the publication of her first childrens' book, "Jeremy Jeckles Hates Freckles." To date she has published numerous other works of poetrey, fiction and non-fiction. Her collection of poems, "Once When I Wasn't Looking," was published in 2007. A second collection, "Gravel Song," will be published in 2010.
