Great leaders are a lighthouse for humanity, they span from Florence Nightingale to Steve Jobs. A good biography is always a priviledged time to reflect on how these men and women managed to achieve modest things and extraordinary ones for the service of others. Their passion, their discipline, and their skills made them well worth reading a few pages to learn more about their life as food for thought for ours.

Strategy is the art of war, possibly an understatement for the art of success. Many military and non military books (ie. in economics, finance and management ...) have been written about this rich and mind challenging topic over centuries. Corporate strategy is now a must for developing successful businesses. Strategy can be defined as "the art of ordering forces to achieve well defined business (or political) goals".

This list is about market finance and economics (finance is the just one of the gifted daughters of economics). There is a wealth of ancient books ranging from social sciences (history, philosophy ...) to mathematics pioneering this field that it would be worth consolidating in this list. Market finance is related to financial assets such as equity, bonds (ie debts) and hybrids, and possibly later [ early ] derivatives as the first traces of futures contracts appeared about 2000 years ago.
